As community members who may be out along waterways and wetlands conducting your River Detectives monitoring we’d like to pass this information so that you feel empowered in knowing what to do if you encounter unwell birds.
The key message is:
- AVOID contact with sick or dead birds
- RECORD the date, time, location and take a photo
- REPORT multiple dead birds or other animals to the Emergency Animal Disease Hotline 1800 675 888
