You get the chance to ‘Ask the expert’ all about platypus

We invite schools to come and learn more about the amazing platypus on World Environment Day. Join Tiana Preston (Melbourne Water) who works with the community to monitor, raise awareness and protect platypus in Melbourne’s waterways.

 

DATE: Tuesday 5 June, 2018

TIME: 11.30am (30 minute session)

WHERE: Virtual session (you join in from your school)

You can join the virtual session through your Polycom device (government schools), tablet (with Polycom app) or on a computer through your Skype for business sign in.

WHO: School groups (primary and secondary)

REGISTER: email riverdetectives@nccma.vic.gov.au with school name & group size

CHALLENGE (please complete by Friday 1st JUNE):

Learn more about the platypus by producing a poster with platypus facts, using recycled materials. The theme for World Environment day is Beat Plastic Pollution: If you can’t reuse it, refuse it. Email your poster AND send in three questions (best from the class) that you would like answered by the expert during the session.

PRIZE: all groups who produce a poster will receive a set of platypus stickers. One lucky school producing the most eye catching, informative and creative poster will receive environmental themed books for their school valued at $100.
