SUMMARY:Ask the expert: Waterbug Webinar with a freshwater ecologist
DESCRIPTION:ASK THE EXPERT ONLINE SESSION\n \nOn Tuesday 24 October we are running: ASK THE EXPERT SESSION – where you and your students will have the chance to speak with the knowledgeable\, engaging and funny freshwater ecologist John Gooderham\, this session is for class groups or teachers/ group leaders. \nGuest presenter John Gooderham. John is best known for co-authoring “The Waterbug Book” with Edward Tsyrlin.  He is a freshwater ecologist with a thing for bugs. Recently his enthusiasm has been directed at work in the tropics\, spending much of his time in Papua New Guinea\, but his first love is still the waterbugs of temperate Australia (the cold bits). \nJohn runs a small company called The Waterbug Company\, which specialises in providing education resources to people that are interested in waterbugs.  Most of these are free and are available from www.thewaterbug.net\, or www.thewaterbugapp.com. With colleagues Tom Sloane and Edward Tsyrlin\, he has recently been working more on moving pictures.  Macro-cinematography gives people a scary insight into the cut-throat (and chitin chewing) world of waterbugs. \nWe are finalising the time and details but we would like to know if you are interested in joining\, and if you are please let us know by emailing riverdetectives@nccma.vic.gov.au: \n\nYour name\nYour school/group\nWhat year level your students are/ how many students would be interested (we suggest a maximum of one class)\nIf you have a time preference\n\n
